Knowing that I'd hopped on the Crypto train "a day late and a dollar short" I've been keeping an eye out for programmes (games) that are in development and sound interesting. One that I've picked up on is Farsite.
First things first, feel free to just go to their website directly but if Farsite sounds interesting to you I'd be very happy if you joined up with my referral link:
What is Farsite?
In their own words:
- Farsite is a blockchain-powered sandbox MMO RTS game with elements of adventure in a sci-fi setting based on a postapocalyptic story;
- Persistent virtual universe with player owned and player-controlled economy running in a trustless environment;
- Every item in the game is created by a player using materials found by a player;
- Every item in the game is location-dependent;
- All the items in Farsite universe are owned by players and could be traded freely on the open market.
So the long and the short of it, it seems to me that it is basically Eve Online but using crypto currency / NFT's to handle the economy.
Where is it at in development?
Based on my reading of their roadmap, it wont be into Early Alpha until q4 2021 but at the moment they are getting people interested in it, registrations and doing airdrops to give people a head-start once it eventually goes live.
What can you do now?
To be honest, not much. Basically as mentioned above you can only really register and do basic tasks like liking on youtube, tweeting, etc to get into their airdrops which will give you "scores" which appear to give you some starting bits and pieces once the game actually goes live.
Why am I interested?
So for me, looking into this is a bit of a gamble, but it sounds fun and though I never got into Eve Online, I really liked the old game Wing Commander but enjoyed Privateer much more (and its inspiration, the original Elite).
In terms of my crypto journey, it is kind of exciting to be at the start of something - if only I'd been that way with Bitcoin/Ethererum or any of the other crypto's that have done well! Even if the game ends up being a bit dull you never know the NFT's that go with it could boom and at the very least you could get a few bits of crypto with it - fingers crossed!
So to sum up - I'm trying to be "ahead of the game" on this one for want of a better way of putting it.
Hope you found the post interesting and that if you're interested in Farsite you'll look into it too! (hopefully with my referral code!) I'll post more as I learn more or as things develop with the game.
And if you're interested in any of the other sites I've been working with links are below:
Have fun on your Crypto Adventures!
