Last week US Department of Defense issued the document Cryptocurrency: An Enforcement Framework published by the Attorney General’s Cyber-Digital Task Force. Attorney General Barr went on to state,
“Cryptocurrency is a technology that could fundamentally transform how human beings interact, and how we organize society,"
Acknowledging the ability of the crypto community to change the world. It comes on the heels of a report last June that the Pentagon started a war-game scenario called the 2018 Joint Land, Air and Sea Strategic Special Program (JLASS). This war game is set in 2025, and centers around the social shift if "Gen-Z" (those born in the 1990's and early 2000's) were to begin using bitcoin to fight against the national bank system
With the uptick in Bitcoin interest both from personal individuals, and large companies. possibly hedging their bets against the inflation of the dollar after the Federal Reserve and Central Banks released Trillions of dollars in bailouts, it appears that the federal government is taking note and possibly concerned about other non-centralized forms of value competing with their national currency.

The increased awareness and attention by the government may be a good thing for Bitcoin in the long-run. Pushing it price even higher as it gains either mainstream acceptance or notoriety. It may stop being seen as something too 'techy' and rather as a valid form of monetary exchange/value to offset an uncertain national financial future.
