First of all, don't go fight with your neighbour after reading this. You must respect your neighbours as they are the ones you have to rely on in an emergency first. So try to talk with them first. That being said, I have to ask you, is it practical to go full organic on your own when you have only a little piece of land? I mean, you can stop all synthetic fertilizers and sprays and grow food, then market them as organically grown, but are they really organic? If you do a test on your land, there is a chance that they become not 100% organic. And you may wonder how that is? "I'm doing all the things by the book and yet still tests come bad."
Well, it might be because someone has used synthetic fertilizers years before you bought the land, or it might be your neighbour trying to clean out weeds by spraying. he might very well be spraying his own yard, but you have to keep in mind the wind carries particles to nearby land. One of the worst things this does is pollute water sources. If you do fish farming, this can be devastating. So why do we still use chemicals? There are other methods. Weed whacking is still a thing, you know. I see some companies sell "organic" rice. But are they really organic?
I mean, when growing rice, you rely on flood irrigation. which means before you get the water to your farm, it must flow through the upper farms. So if they use chemicals, there is a chance that water carrying chemical residue to your farm. So unless you own the whole farm lot or everybody agrees to go full organic, there is no way to get "organic rice." It's just marketing gimmicks. So, to truly go organic, everybody must go organic unless it's just a failed attempt. And it is almost impossible these days as everybody follows the money flow. Also, those big fertilizer corporations have the power to control this. So it's not an easy task to do.
Fun fact:- I was actually all things organic until recently. Now I use synthetic fertilizers as needed. Only because organic fertilizers have become as expensive as synthetic ones recently. Sometimes they are more expensive. But I never spray chemicals. It's just my thing. I believe spraying chemicles harm envirnment more. There are natural alternatives for many pests. Try them first if you are a home grower.
