Panic associated with coronavirus is beginning to affect the cryptocurrency market.

It is not yet fully clear whether panic associated with the coronavirus epidemic has affected cryptocurrency exchange rates.
But could this phenomenon affect blockchain coins now, at the time of the crash?

Panic in the market :

Cryptocurrency markets have lost billions of dollars since the beginning of this week.
Everything as part of the sale that ended Bitcoin's triumphal march on the chart. Over the past 24 hours,
total market capitalization has fallen by as much as 7.5 percent.
up to $ 240 billion.

The matter is bad in technical terms.
Bitcoin has broken several key support levels.
Another important course test is strong support at USD 8,300.

At the time of writing, BTC remains at around USD 8800. The rest of the market is also rapidly losing.
Ethereum's token, Ether, dropped by another 9 percent, and several other cryptocurrencies have even lost twice as much. As usual, BTC opponents believe that this is clear evidence that the digital currency is not - as its supporters want - a safe haven.
Is it true?

Inheritance and the coronavirus matter :

First of all, it looks like fake news is spreading faster than the virus itself.
Facebook, which is a hotbed of misinformation, has recently even introduced measures
to block or even mention all ads related to coronavirus.
A company spokesman told Business Insider:

"We have recently implemented rules prohibiting advertising relating to coronavirus (...),
for example, suggesting limited supply of [medicine] or guaranteeing cure or prevention."

In addition, social media is flooded with numerous messages about new cases.
All this causes that the global community falls into a certain paranoia and rarely - as human is usually used - verifies new information.

So it is possible that cryptocurrencies are losing because of such anxiety that surpasses even thinking about BTC in terms of a safe haven. However, there is another variant. Maybe just - as the following tweet suggests - some "whale" took actions lowering the BTC price.
When the coronavirus situation is normal, will growth return?
