It's been a wild season but as most may have expected, it's the Chiefs and Bucs in the big game. I had chosed a Packers and Chiefs superbowl myself, but as we all saw, the Bucs had Rogers on the ropes with pressure up front which kept him out of his rhythm. I also was looking forward to a Chiefs Steelers matchup, but the Browns showed that they aren't to be taken lightly and may be back in the playoffs next season. The Saints were, well...the Saints. They just haven't been able to get over the hump in the last three years and from my viewpoint, they run out of gas by the time they reach the playoffs. We may have seen the last of Brees, but could we also be seeing the last of Brady? I don't think it will matter win or lose the superbowl to him. I think it's gonna be all about how he feels and eventhough he's back on the biggest stage, it looks to me that this season took more of a mental toll on him than the physical. Nevertheless he's facing the "I got right now" QB in the league with Mahomes so I'm sure it's gonna be silent "top that" duel between the vet and youngin'. Mahomes looked okay on the turf toe thanks to the special made plate inside of his cleat to help protect the toe. The Chiefs missed Bell and Hellaire in the backfield last game, but with two weeks off, they should be back to take some of the pressure off the passing game. The Bucs on the other hand were missing AB, but still faired well. If they are to have any chance in this superbowl then Godwin has to make almost every catch when thrown to. He dropped a couple last week that could've really made a difference in the game if Rodgers and the offense were able to capitalize. They won't have that same chance against a Chiefs offense that we all know can put points on the board as fast as Steph Curry dropping a couple three pointers on the court. At the same time I expect Bruce Arians(Bucs HC) to throw everything plus the kitchen sink at the Chiefs secondary. He will make them work more than they had to last week and in last years Superbowl. I don't see him calling plays to eat the clock. He may very well make this a shootout because he's not the typical play it safe kinda coach. Andy Reid(Chiefs HC)wont be too hesitant to open up the engine either, but he's more methodic and has the type of offense that will lull you to sleep then take the shot downfield. This is a tough game for me to pick, but my overall gut feeling is that the Chiefs become back to back champions at nights end. Final score Chiefs 38, Bucs 23.
Happy Superbowl Watching!!!!
