The Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott finally came to terms on a deal. 4yrs, $160 mil, $123 guaranteed and a $60 mil plus signing bonus. Jerry Jones made it clear early on that his team is not one to set the market with their signings so they waited it out and hit what I feel was their target number. On the other side of things, Dak was also willing to wait it out and see what became of the QB market so both sides were clearly in agreement on that part of things. It would seem that the Chiefs deal with Mahomes may have set the market the Cowboys weren't willing to set and I think it actually helped negotiations get back on track for Dak. I really think it's a good deal because it gives the Cowboys a legit answer at the position for the next four years with what I think will turn out to be an even better deal once the salary cap is increased again. I don't see anyone topping Mahomes' salary for a while but there's gonna be a lot money money being spent on QBs over the next four years while Dak and the Cowboys are locked into a team and player friendly deal. The NFC East division is the Cowboys to lose for the next four years if you ask me because they now have the most solid QB in their division. The Eagles traded Wentz, Washington released Smith, and the Giants are trying to see if Jones is their long term answer at QB. So the timing of it all fell into place on schedule. Now we'll just have see how Dak bounces back from the season ending leg injury he suffered. I'm betting that he comes back just fine and leads the Cowboys to the playoffs with a 10-6, 11-4 record at best. They have a very good offense that's finding it's footing under new head coach Mike McCarthy but expect them to get better this coming season.
