Cam Out With Covid/Tonight's Chiefs vs Patriots Game/NFL & Covid Moving Forward

The NFL was well aware that at some point during the season they would be dealing with positive testing results.  Over the last two weeks they've had to move some games around with the latest being tonight's game which was moved from a different day due to Cam Newton testing positive for Covid-19. He's the first superstar starting QB in the league whose team has to play a backup QB due to the virus.  It may be early in the season so some will look at it lightly, but there's a high chance that this exact scenario occurs with a team before the start of or within the NFL playoffs.  This exact scenario occurring at a time like that would totally shift the landscape of the game itself, fantasy sports, and sports betting so there's plenty left to deal with.  The only thing I question is the scheduling of tonight's game.  In my opinion it's too soon. Cam just tested positive last Friday and we still don't know if anyone else he's been in contact with has been infected due to the fact that not everyone shows symptom's within the same time frame and some may not show symptom's at all.  The Steelers/Titans game was moved out to week 8, but the Titans still played a game less than a week after having 11 positive test.  Here's what I think the NFL should consider.  Any team with multiple positive test should immediately be given a bye week to allow more time for daily testing and results before playing their next game.  That way if there's any additional test during that time, player's are quarantined and replacement's have a chance to get somewhat up to speed.   If i'm the NFL, I see no reason to try and stay on pace with the schedule.  Trust me, I don't think a single fan would mind having the season longer than scheduled, and that also gives the NFL a chance at additional TV revenue to help make up for the losses being taken with no fans in the stadium.  That may serve as a better solution as we head into the fall/winter part of the year where heaters will be on the sideline to help keep players warm in cold city games, but may also serve in further spreading the virus from player to player.  That could lead to a surge in positive testing and lead to a temporary shutdown at some point, which I hope doesn't happen, but it's a realistic probability.  I feel bad for Cam after all he's been through with the work he's put in to prove that he's still a very good NFL QB.  86 days with no calls from a single team and he just kept working so that when the opportunity came, he'd be ready and then this happens.  Now it's not to say how he got it because there's no additional details other than he tested positive, but I don't see Cam having been doing anything other than getting ready for the next game so that he can show he's still elite and so far to this point, he's looked as good as ever.  I take it, he'll be out for the next 2 weeks and be able to get back to business on the field.
