Youtuber and funny man Billy Cobb is a personal inspiration to me. Somehow, an artist whose most popular song on Youtube is a stirring rendition "Slow Dancing in the Dark" by Joji, sung as Carl Wheezer from the Jimmy Neutron cartoon; is also capable of making legit hard rocking, lyrically engaging, genre classics.

Zuzu's Pedals comes off his self titled album released January 15th 2021. For a guy that seems to be doing this on his own it's a true accomplishment that this album sounds like it could have been easily picked up off the CD shelf at your local Tape World in 1997 in the section that none of the popular kids go to.

The chugging and distorted guitars, the soft vocals that sound like they'd rather be doing anything else, and the booming chorus lend themselves to the best aspects of early garage rock and emo. If it's been a while since you've hid in a garage smoking a cigarette you stole from your dad's gold pack, swinging your wallet chain around then this sound might just be great nostalgia trip for you.

Be sure to check out more from Cobb as well. Even if this song isn't your cup of black coffee there's plenty of other music he's done in many different styles/. His page is also full of meme's that are hilarious, some of his best being completing song lyrics using Google autocomplete.
