Over on the Saurian Podcast, Bill Saurian interviewed Letmos Livic of Vehmic Capital. It was another interesting cast, where they talked a lot about the feedback loops that tokens issued on staked assets have created. But the segment with Livic focused on the future of cryptocurrency.

Livic remains one of those controversial figures. Though he is a proponent of blockchain technologies, and early adopter, he is outspoken against many of the modern facets which have proven susceptible to exploits, or serve to harm well-intention investors. This has often been seen as an attack on NFTs, or other attempts at integrating crypto and social media.

However, his vision remains positive, and seems to support the continued interest of Vehmic Capital in cryptocurrency.

[Bill S.]: Good morning, Letmos! Thank you for joining us today. I know you're busy, so let's dive right in. You have expressed your belief in cryptocurrencies as a good idea. Right You're pro-crypto. You're on board with it. But you also mentioned that the market needs a new angle beyond NFTs or web3 for the next round of growth. Can you elaborate on that?

[Letmos Livic]: Good morning, and thank you for having me. Yes, I do believe that cryptocurrencies have immense potential. They have proven it. Finance has changed. But to drive the next wave of growth, we need to explore new avenues beyond NFTs and web3, as I was saying. These are gimmicks. People are selling profiles, chasing scams, schemes, buying nonsense. We need something solid. While NFTs and web3 have gained significant attention and traction, it's crucial to push the boundaries and explore fresh ideas that can expand the use cases and appeal of cryptocurrencies to a broad audience. To the rest of the world. Last mile sort of stuff.

[Bill S.]: What specific areas or angles do you think hold the most promise for driving this next round of growth? It's not easy. People are looking for it. That's where the money is.

[Letmos Livic]: There are a few areas that I find particularly promising. Firstly, I believe that the intersection of cryptocurrencies with real-world assets and industries can be a game-changer. Back to basics, sort of growth. We've seen glimpses of this with tokenization of real estate or fractional ownership of artworks, but there's still a lot of untapped potential. Imagine if we could tokenize other tangible assets like automobiles, commodities, or even intellectual property rights. Do you know this was being done with books, but it died on the vine. There is no real, current project that is alive or properly operating. But if there was, well, this could unlock liquidity and accessibility in traditionally illiquid markets, providing new opportunities for investors. You want that dynamism, that churn.

Secondly, I think there's ample room for innovation in the financial services sector. Cryptocurrencies have the potential to revolutionize traditional banking, lending, and payment systems beyond what we have seen. We've had glimpses of this with decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, but there's still much more to explore. Improving the scalability, security, and user experience of blockchain-based financial services can bring cryptocurrencies closer to mainstream adoption and drive significant growth. I actually expect a lot to be automated. You deposit funds in your account, and the entire financial system operates to produce interest through trades, loans, insurance. You won't even know. It happens automatically.

You know, uh, lastly, I believe that incorporating cryptocurrencies into social impact initiatives could be a compelling angle. By leveraging the transparency and traceability of blockchain technology, we can create platforms that facilitate donations, track the impact of charitable contributions, or incentivize sustainable practices. This can be used for businesses. See what corporations are using their money on. Transparency. This intersection of cryptocurrencies and social good can attract new users and investors who are passionate about making a positive difference in the world.

[Bill S.]: Those are fascinating ideas, Letmos. How do you envision overcoming the challenges that might arise when exploring these new angles? A lot of it is DOA, given how people use the technology.

[Letmos Livic]: Indeed, challenges are inevitable, but they shouldn't deter us from exploring new frontiers. One of the key challenges lies in regulatory frameworks. As we delve into tokenizing real-world assets or disrupting traditional financial systems, regulatory clarity and compliance become paramount. Engaging in proactive dialogue with regulators and policymakers can help foster an environment that encourages innovation while ensuring consumer protection and market stability.

Another challenge is user education and adoption. As we introduce new angles in the cryptocurrency market, it's crucial to educate users about the benefits, risks, and mechanics of these innovations. Building user-friendly interfaces and providing intuitive onboarding experiences can help bridge the gap and attract a broader audience.

Additionally, collaboration is vital. To overcome challenges and drive growth, entrepreneurs, developers, and industry stakeholders should come together to share knowledge, best practices, and resources. By fostering an ecosystem of collaboration, we can collectively navigate obstacles and accelerate the development and adoption of new angles in the cryptocurrency market.

[Bill S.]: Thank you for sharing your insights, Letmos. I think that's almost all the time we have. But, uh, one thing, I guess. What is it? In conclusion, what is your overall vision for the future of cryptocurrencies and the role they can play in our society?

[Letmos Livic]: My pleasure. It's been good talking. To answer you, looking ahead, I envision a future where cryptocurrencies are seamlessly integrated into our daily lives, transforming industries, empowering individuals, and driving socioeconomic progress. They are not scene. You may have a card, a thumbprint, just check a box in an app. It knows. You don't have to bother with it. Ultimately, my vision is to see cryptocurrencies evolve into a trusted and widely adopted medium of exchange, store of value, and catalyst for positive change in our society. Everywhere. Full adoption. That's what we do.

[Bill S.]: That's an inspiring vision, Letmos. Thank you for sharing your time and valuable insights with us today.

[Letmos Livic]: Thank you for having me. It was a pleasure discussing the future of cryptocurrencies with you.

It may seem far fetched, but a future where AI enhanced trading is managed to the best benefit of holders is a nice idea. We're not sure exactly what form that would take, or how it is possible, but Livic is a man prone to dreaming big, and acting large. Hopefully, we see some progress in this regard, as Vehmic Capital has urged the development of distributed trading networks (DTNs), a technology building off current generation decentralized exchanges.

In a private comment, Livic was interested in offering grants for the efforts in this space, giving teams and developers the resources necessary to succeed.
