Seeds Of Doubt - 25 JUN 2025

The world is spinning faster than ever, or so they’d like us to believe. Every headline screams of historic change, but if you scratch beneath the surface, the stories don’t quite add up. Let me walk you through what’s supposedly happening—and why I’m not buying the official narrative.

The U.S. and Iran have agreed to a ceasefire after a brutal twelve-day exchange of strikes, culminating in U.S. B-2 bombers “obliterating” Iran’s nuclear facilities. President Trump is touting “great progress” and even claims that the U.S. will enter nuclear talks with Iran next week, suggesting a new dawn in U.S.-Iran relations. The media is quick to echo that Iran’s nuclear program has been “severely damaged,” while Trump hints at easing oil sanctions to help Iran rebuild. But let’s pause. Are we really to believe that a regime like Iran, after decades of enmity and clandestine nuclear development, would simply roll over after a few airstrikes? Even retired U.S. military officials admit the strikes may have only set Iran back by months, not years. And now, suddenly, Trump is dangling the carrot of sanctions relief? It reeks of theater, a carefully choreographed dance to distract from deeper agendas, perhaps a backroom deal, or a manufactured crisis to justify shifting alliances and military budgets. The “obliteration” narrative is contradicted by intelligence assessments and the speed at which talks are being scheduled. If Iran’s nuclear program was truly devastated, why the rush to negotiate and offer economic lifelines?

NATO leaders, under intense pressure from Trump, have agreed to a massive spike in defense spending, up to 5% of GDP for member states. The summit is being hailed as “historic,” with Trump once again questioning America’s commitment to NATO’s collective defense, even as he bends the alliance to his will. Why now? With the supposed threat from Russia and Iran in the headlines, is this a genuine response to global instability, or a manufactured crisis to funnel billions more into the military-industrial complex? Trump’s public skepticism of NATO’s Article 5, while simultaneously demanding more money, seems less like leadership and more like extortion. And let’s not forget: every time NATO ramps up spending, the arms manufacturers’ stocks soar. Trump’s erratic stance, questioning NATO’s core guarantee while extracting massive spending commitments, suggests a transactional approach, not a principled one. It’s a pattern: create a crisis, then sell the solution.

In Ukraine, President Zelenskyy is being sidelined as NATO leaders gather, even as Ukraine and the Council of Europe sign an agreement to establish a special tribunal to prosecute Russian leaders for aggression. Meanwhile, Russian drone attacks intensify, and Western allies are pledging more military aid. Why is Zelenskyy suddenly on the sidelines? Is the West losing interest in Ukraine’s war, or is this a signal that the narrative is shifting? The timing of the tribunal announcement, just as NATO focuses on defense spending and Russia steps up attacks, feels suspiciously coordinated. Are we witnessing the beginning of a pivot away from Ukraine, now that public support is waning and the next geopolitical crisis is being manufactured elsewhere? The establishment of a tribunal, while symbolically powerful, does nothing to change facts on the ground. It’s a classic move: promise justice, but quietly prepare to move on.

Scientists have been given the green light for the Synthetic Human Genome Project, aiming to create the building blocks of human life from scratch. This is being hailed as a world first, a leap forward for science and medicine. But who’s really driving this? Whenever we see “world firsts” in genetic engineering, it’s worth asking who stands to benefit, and who’s regulating the regulators. The timing is uncanny, as political and economic instability dominates the headlines. Is this an attempt to distract the public from global unrest, or worse, to lay groundwork for new forms of bio-surveillance and control? The project’s approval comes with little public debate, and the same experts warning about its risks are being sidelined. Whenever science moves this fast, with this little scrutiny, history tells us to be wary.

The world’s “biggest stories” are riddled with contradictions, sudden reversals, and suspiciously convenient timing. Whether it’s war and peace in the Middle East, the militarization of Europe, shifting priorities in Ukraine, or the quiet march of genetic engineering, the logic doesn’t hold, unless you assume there’s a deeper game afoot. And that’s exactly what I suspect.

The seeds of doubt have been planted. Let them grow.
