After watching movies with:
gingerbread killer cookies (The Gingerdead Man 2005 with even 2 sequels)
killers christmas toys (Silent Night, Deadly Night 5: The Toy Maker 1991)
murderous christmas elves (Elves 1989, Elves 2017, The Elf 2016)
Murderous Snowmen (Jack Frost 1997)
I thought I'd seen it all by now (not to mention the 150,000 films released on Krampus, all horrible but this one deserves a separate article).
But this year some screenwriters managed to amaze me with a murderous Christmas tree and a demon-possessed nutcracker.
The first film is Demonic Christmas Tree or The killing tree (I didn't understand what the real title is), a 2022 English feature film directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield.
The plot:
On Christmas Eve, a widow casts a spell to resurrect her executed husband.
However, the spell goes awry, the husband is brought back to life as a Christmas tree and he is determined to take revenge on those who caused his execution.
I had already seen a nice American short film from 2008, Treevenge, directed by Jason Eisener in which Christmas trees riot and start killing people, but a 1 hour 13 minute feature film in which there is a murderous Christmas tree it takes courage to do it.
The most beautiful thing about the film is obviously the cover.
Treevenge is very good instead.
The second is Nutcracker Massacre, a 2022 american film directed by Rebecca Matthews.
A novelist visits her family for Christmas and finds a mysterious possessed Nutcracker doll wreaking havoc.
Again the most beautiful thing about the film is the cover.
