The reason I started taking photos with my iPhone years ago was simple for me. I wanted to get out of the house and most importantly I wanted to quiet down my mind, to live in the moment, enjoy my surroundings more. Having said that, I am human, ever since I started posting my photos on instagram, I do enjoy getting likes and comments.

Most recently, a published photographer liked the photo above. He has an an amazing story, his name is Jay Ferrell. Found out about him on a podcast, Living Free in Tennessee, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite podcasts to listen to (along with Unloose the Goose).  Jay has a very interesting subject when it comes to taking photos, he photographs abandoned buildings. I highly recommend that podcast episode, which I will link to at the end of this blog.

Quickly after I finished listening that episode, I started following him on instagram and liked some of his photos. He, kindly responded by liking the photo above.

The point to all this, as much as I tell myself I like taking photos for myself, it clearly gives me a dopamine kick when someone appreciates what I have created, and that is ok. I like that feeling :)

So thank you Jay Ferrell, or many others that encourage me to continue taking photos for my own pleasure. :)
