It seems that everyone wants a piece of me. That is, they want my time, my attention, or my money.
I am a multi-tasker and thrive under pressure, but I have to admit, that I have over-extended myself in this crazy world of crypto. It is time to cut back and get rid of some of the time-wasters and refocus so that I can move forward and succeed.
Can anyone out there relate? There are so many great projects. There are also so many mediocre projects that have been a waste of my time. There are also some new projects that have potential that I am keeping my eye on.
At the end of the day, I reflect and ask myself—of all the things I am doing, what is distracting me or competing with my ability to meet my goals?
Here is an approach that I have learned over the years that has helped me—and that I have to remind myself of from time to time.
- Re-evaluate your goals. For me, these goals go way beyond making it financially. I have family goals. I have spiritual goals. I have personal goals.
- Take a look at the big picture in your life and identify situations, people, projects, or other things that are keeping you from meeting your goals.
- Eliminate the goal blockers (or at least minimize their impact). Please do not take me literally with the strong word “eliminate.” I assume you all know what I mean here. Just doing a little house cleaning with your life can go a long way.
- Plan your week. I am not good at an hourly schedule. What works for me is to take time on Sunday evening or Monday morning and list the things that I need to get done for the week. I try to cross as many of those off on Monday and Tuesday that I can accomplish. Its great when you can get them all crossed off early in the week and have time for other things. Procrastination kills progress.
- Be patient. It is important to be realistic about your goals and how long it will take to achieve them. Some of my goals are pretty lofty. I have goals with my NFT’s, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other token holdings. I have health goals. I have goals related to writing a couple of more books. I want to get closer to God. I could list more, but you all have your own goals.
Sometimes I get discouraged because I have to move the “goalpost” a bit back because things often take longer than I plan. However, I can assure you that it will take much longer if you do not have some kind of plan similar to what I just shared. As long as I am moving forward, I can have some level of satisfaction. As long as you keep steady, you can achieve many of your goals as well.
Failure has nothing to do with not achieving your goals. Failure is when you have no aspirations. Failure is when you do not care to do anything with your life. Success can be measured in many ways. Satisfaction comes with knowing that you are moving in the right direction. Time for me to sign off and practice what I preach.
