Origin Materials Files Trademark Lawsuit Against BlueTriton Brands


On December 28th, Origin Materials Operating, Inc. aka Origin Materials filed an intellectual property/trademark lawsuit against BlueTriton Brands. The complaint was filed in the District Court of Northern California. 

While I have not yet reviewed the court filings, it appears that the dispute here is over the name and possibly the logo. The brand I believe in question is the Origin Spring Water. You be the judge:

Unfortunately, I can't add any more color to this story, as I'm not privy to the exact details of the lawsuit. It does seem odd that a chemical company would sue a beverage company. Perhaps there is more to it behind the scenes. It's certainly a strange development, and I wouldn't expect either company to address it publicly.
