Be Wary of Free Crypto on Telegram

Telegram is a great censorship free messaging application. It is filled with alternative news sources as well as bots and apps. Now, someone like me, who is looking for the best FREE items I can get, is happy with Telegram. However, like everything else in life, Telegram channels, groups and bots will attempt to scam you and take you for as much as they can. You need to be careful. Here are a listing of some of the ways I have found that work with Telegram and Crypto:

1. Airdrops: I had signed up for Telegram in April of (2021) and since then I have seen hundreds of airdrop and signal channels. Airdrops are when you sign up or do a task to get a small amount of crypto. So far, out of every airdrop channel I have seen, they have either not sent the crypto out to me (for tokens and ERC-20) or they are what I would call a "SCAM" (for BNB) . Most Airdrop tasks are things like follow their other Telegram channels, follow their Twitter channel and follow their Youtube channel. It all seems like a legit set of tasks. For BNB or Binance Smart Chain crypto, I refer to it as a SCAM because you are paying for something that has no value. I don't care what the name of the new token or coin is, but presenting to a customer that they can get 1 million new coins that COULD be worth $100 each, someday, could get some people, considering that Bitcoin started off at a dollar as well. Where BNB gets me: is that every transaction or transportation of crypto on the Binance Smart Chain, like with Etherium, has a gas tax. In some cases, I have seen chances to get thousands of an unknown coin in exchange for me to pay up to $11 in gas tax fees on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). The whole reason I got into crypto was to see how much I could have a portfolio be worth, while also paying the absolute minimum amount of Fiat money. So, paying to get a crypto that might not be worth anything, isn't going to work for me.

2. Bots: There are two kinds of Bots on Telegram, or at least I will say that there are two kinds. There are Trading bots and farming bots.

2A:Trading bots are the ones that say that if you send it 100 trx crypto, in 24 hours, it will send you back 200. Most of the time, these are scams as the only way to get that kind of interest back on your deposited amount, is if the trader lent the crypto and backed it against something else and then through the magic of buy and sell and pump and dump, were able to get your crypto back with extras. I think the #2 rule in crypto is to not send it to people who you don't trust and I don't trust sending my crypto out to anyone like that. If my crypto goes to person who takes it and runs, then I am out.

2B: Farming bots provide a game-like experience for you to take advantage of farming yields. One such farming bot, which I was using, had you click on a Button every 24 hours, to earn a bonus amount of gems. You then use the gems to purchase creatures, which do the mining for you. After each hour, or whenever you want, you click on your farm and collect and amount of diamonds. You then are supposed to be able to cash these out for Bitcoin. The game I played, never paid me out. Instead, when I reached the minimum amount of diamonds that I was allowed to exchange for Bitcoin and send to my account, it then introduced a new form of currency for the game: red balloons. So, while originally I had needed to get 3,000 diamonds to withdraw, as 0.001 Bitcoin, it now says that I need to trade in those diamonds for red balloons at a rate of 10 diamonds per balloon. I also need a minimum of 10,000 diamonds, to trade in to balloons. (You can see where this is going.) In this case, I hadn't paid any money so it is just time I waste doing it, but I am stubborn and wanted to see if it worked.

3. Signals: Signals are channels or groups on Telegram where a group of people will advertise a new crypto or token. They then want everyone to jump in and buy that token and then they promise those buyers that they will help pump up the price so everyone can sell and make money. They often times are the ones behind a pump and dump scam, making it you and the other buyers who are left holding useless and worthless crypto.

4. Click to Earn: These are simple channels that show a link to a website. You click on the link, visit the website for 30 seconds or so, and then close it. When you get back to the channel, it rewards you with some crypto. These take a lot of time but they do pay.

So, what does this all come out to be?  Well, if you read down this far, it means you are interested and here is my take:

1. Do airdrops that rely on you holding.  Don't pay for gas fees, transaction fees or anything like that.  I'm going to sell you a baseball rookie card for $200 today and it could be worth $2,000 tomorrow.  Without having any knowledge of the player or the ability to have a refund, would you pay me for that card?

2.  Most bots are created for mining purposes.  They get as many people as possible to join up, use their combined RAM to mine and then when the owners and their friends have what they need, they close and delete the bot, destroying any profit making or earning for everyone else.

3. As I said above, I make a new crypto called Dollos. I tell everyone that the 1 million hard cap on Dollos means that while it currently sits at 1/1000th of a penny, if it goes up at all, when more people buy into it, it means that their Dollos will be worth way more.  I then say that it is on the Binance Smart chain and if you buy Dollos through my website, you can get as much as you want, but you will have to pay the gas fee.  So you buy $5 worth of the Dollos and then pay the $20 in fees and you get the $5 in Dollos and they start to go up, making your amount worth $7 right now.  I then wait until I make enough money, then I can the crypto, claiming that it wasn't working and you are now stuck with a worthless Crypto.  You can't exchange it or get rid of it and you paid only $5, right?  No, you paid $25, because you had to pay a gas fee, which I took from you, on my website.

4. Don't do these, the channels run out of websites for you, once you get a decent amount and then you will never get that crypto.
