Moonlight Memories

By Shelley M. Latreille

Moonlight

Sadly, I drifted out to sea.
What dreams I did have.
Memories drift past me,
as I drift further away.
Thoughts float towards me,
as the incandescent sunlight grows dim.
The moon spreads its powerful light,
such as a disease ravishes a body.
The water is calm and smooth,
as it glows eerily in the moonlight.
Distance between thoughts and dreams grows greater,
as I become one with the water.
