Read Me Into Your Heart Before the End

Read me into your heart from the very start,
Not at the end, when time has grown old;
I fell in love with the light in your eyes,
And gave you my heart before my story was told.

Grant me a refuge within your eyes,
A quiet place where my soul can rest;
For this heart has grown weary of the world,
And even of itself, within its own chest.

Along every road that I wandered alone,
I found traces of sorrow wherever I went;
My heart grew tired of the world outside,
And of the questions my own soul sent.

Not every smile reveals a heart full of joy,
Not every laughter means sorrow has flown;
Sometimes the lips hide a thousand tears,
And the deepest pain is the least often shown.

How many nights have I traveled with you,
Through dreams where the dawn seemed so far away?
The morning arrived, but deep in my heart,
The night kept the memories it would not betray.

I asked the moon, “Have you heard of my love?
Have you seen the one my heart longs to find?”
It answered with silence, and tears filled my eyes,
As the stars kept the secrets I carried inside.

I called out your name to the stars in the sky,
And the heavens seemed to ask what my heart concealed;
How could I explain what words cannot hold,
Or show all the wounds that love has revealed?

The breeze passed gently through the streets of your hair,
And carried your fragrance into my mind;
I followed its whisper through memories and dreams,
Searching for peace I had yet to find.

I told every petal the truth of my longing,
The secrets my heart had kept locked away;
The flowers grew shy and bowed their heads,
As though even they had no words left to say.

Tell me, O eyes that bring peace to my soul,
Where can I find a heart that will not fade?
Where is the shelter untouched by sorrow,
A place where love needs no disguise to be made?

Give me a place within your heart,
But never through fear, never through chains;
For love must be free, even when it burns,
And true affection cannot live through restraints.

I do not want you to stay out of fear,
Nor offer your heart because you feel you must;
I do not want love born out of habit,
But a love that grows from truth and trust.

I am the kind of love that remains in the storm,
Not a candle that dies when the cold winds blow;
I am the hand that reaches through darkness,
The quiet devotion that continues to grow.

If the world should close every door in your way,
My kindness would search for another door;
For love is not measured by ease or comfort,
But by how much compassion we give when life is sore.

If sadness should settle upon your eyes,
Let my gaze become a gentle balm;
Let me sit beside you without asking why,
And offer your troubled heart a little calm.

If spring should abandon the garden one day,
Let hope in your heart grow greener still;
For even beneath the coldest of winters,
A seed can awaken by its own quiet will.

If rain should beat hard upon our roof,
Let love be the music that fills the air;
And even when thunder shakes our windows,
Let us remember that we are still there.

I ask for no crown, no title, no fame,
No world laid beneath my feet;
I only wish that, in the quiet of night,
Two honest hearts in understanding meet.

Come, let our story be simple and true,
With no hidden hatred, no fear, no disguise;
Let love flow freely between our hearts,
Like a clear blue river beneath open skies.

Come, let us listen to what our hearts say,
And ask what remains when the years have gone;
When beauty grows quiet and time moves on,
Will kindness and tenderness still carry us on?

From the day I first looked into your eyes,
I saw the world in a different light;
The ordinary seemed touched by wonder,
And even the darkness grew soft and bright.

In every leaf upon the trees,
In every blossom opening to the sun,
I searched for a trace of your presence,
And found little miracles, one by one.

I saw you in the laughter of morning,
I heard you in the tears of the rain;
I felt your memory in moments of silence,
Like a gentle song returning again.

In every lonely and silent hour,
I held your name close to my heart;
And though the world could offer no answer,
My dreams refused to let you depart.

But love is not asking you to belong to me,
Or demanding that you think of me every day;
It is not building a wall around your heart,
Or standing between you and your own way.

I do not wish to possess your freedom,
Nor make you a prisoner of my desire;
I only hope that, if you choose to walk beside me,
Your heart will be honest, your spirit on fire.

For love is born when two souls choose freely,
Not when one heart is forced to remain;
It grows from truth and mutual kindness,
And finds its strength through sunshine and rain.

My heart found life in the light of your eyes,
Yet your path is yours, and your choice is free;
For even the deepest and purest of loves
Must leave room for the soul to be.

If one day you build your home beside me,
Your laughter will make the gardens bloom;
And sunlight will dance through our open windows,
Chasing the shadows from every room.

But if one day you choose another road,
And leave my world to follow your own,
My heart will remember you without bitterness,
And wish you peace wherever you've grown.

For I never asked love to bring me possession;
I never demanded that dreams all come true;
I only hoped that the light I discovered
Might bring a little more happiness to you.

If this is the share of love fate has given,
Then let my heart keep your memory bright;
For even a love that cannot become forever
Can leave something beautiful in the light.

Read me into your heart from the very start,
Before the last sunset colors the sky;
Come before the warmth of the final sun fades,
Before unspoken dreams have forgotten to fly.

Do not leave the door to hope forever closed,
Or let the last golden moments depart;
For a weary heart still dreams of tomorrow,
And still has a garden alive in its heart.

Read me into your heart, but only by choice,
For love grows from truth, not from pleading or pain;
Let us speak without fear, let us listen with care,
And discover what kindness can help us regain.

Come, let us ask what our hearts truly seek,
What remains when the noise of the world disappears;
Perhaps it is tenderness, perhaps it is trust,
Perhaps it is love that grows stronger through years.

I would give my heart to the light in your eyes,
For there I discovered a world fresh and new;
Though the seasons may change and the years may pass,
There are beautiful things that remain true.

And if someone asks me what love really means,
Tell them a heart found a shelter one day;
A soul that was tired of fighting the world
Found peace in a gaze that gently said, “Stay.”

Read me into your heart from the very start,
Not at the end, when the years have flown by;
For my heart had surrendered before words were spoken,
And found its first refuge in the light of your eyes.
