Fantasia and the bitcoin wizards


In the third animated play by Walt Disney, from 1940, under the title Fantasia, there was a revolution in animated cinematographic narratives so splendid that it became a landmark, a watershed felt to this day.

The work, divided into 8 segments, in the same way as an opera and divinely conducted through classical music, as if the central character were the sound work itself and the animation would be the visual translation of each movement of each instrument in the orchestra that reproduced the brilliantly conducted by the eccentric Leopold Stokowski.

Disney established the film's concept in 1938, as work neared completion on The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Originally drawn from the Silly Symphony cartoon designed as a comeback role for Mickey Mouse who had lost popularity to bolder cartoons.

As production costs exceeded what the short could yield, Disney decided to include it in a multi-segment feature film featuring classic pieces with Stokowski and Taylor as contributors.

The soundtrack was recorded using multiple audio channels and played back with Fantasound, a pioneering sound system developed by Disney and RCA that made Fantasia the first commercial film shown in stereo and a precursor to surround sound.

Inside this film, there is the high point: the sorcerer's apprentice - who even raised the homonymous film "Sorcerer's apprentice", with Nicloas Cage - Mickey Mouse has the task of cleaning the kitchen.

Having access to the spellbook, Mickey, thinking he controlled the power, makes the broomsticks work for him.

In the end, almost drowning, unable to control his creation, he had the help of the castle's magician to save himself.

Mickey's amazement, masterfully illustrated in the film, driving comets, seas and lands as an allusion to the pride that power confers, demonstrates that illusion can be fatal when you don't and you know the extent and consequences of everything you manipulate.

The brooms that initially help him soon rebel. In this rebellion, Mickey begins to literally drown in the problems of his own making.
