In 2025, Solana (SOL) and Ethereum (ETH) have delivered some of the strongest returns among major AltCoins, while other projects such as Cardono have done enough to maintain investor interest. All in all, Ethereum has continued to be one of the most reliable performers, as it benefits from institutional adoption and ETF inflows. While at the same time Solana has emerged as a real challenger to Ethereum’s dominance of the blockchain. Solana (has seen one of the best ROI in 2025 and more than bounced back from its 2022–23 struggles with strong ecosystem growth that bodes well for its future. As I wrote recently Cardano is a nice steady project, and in many ways, shows similar characteristics to LiteCoin as an investment – it’s not going to be explosive but just as the tortoise will emerge as a winner in the end.

So what Is next?

It is worth mentioning a couple more things before I get into my final paragraph. Firstly, infrastructure-focused projects are attracting attention for their scalability and utility, though they remain riskier bets when compared to ETH and SOL. And secondly, 2025 has seen the pre-launch of BitCoin $Hyper, a new player on the field which is projected by some to be the next 1000x coin.

So, moving beyond 2025, we can expect the same pressures to determine future prices. For me adoption and real-world usage is key and we must remain especially cautious of meme coins and speculative tokens that can collapse as quickly as they rise – unless we have figured out the secret of how to ride on a whale’s tail when he pumps a coin. Regulation, there to protect is us, a double-edged sword as it continues to remain crypto-sceptic and its approach is highly unlikely to change for at least the near future. It will continue to scrutinise AltCoins, and especially those tied to DeFi and stablecoins. The final challenge, and especially for smaller projects, is liquidity because while they may show high percentage gains, they may also lack depth for large-scale investment. I have deliberately been careful not to single out any specific project, rather to provide a guide in this paragraph because at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what I think – DYOR!
