I am writing today, just in case you missed it...
Yesterday I raised a couple of questions concerning PublishOx's abandonment of Loopring in favour of Ampleforth. Speaking personally it raised the key question of what should I do with it. The problem is that all of my holdings are in Coinbase and Celsius and neither support the new coin.
My post generated a number comments and it is worth providing a summary , including some perspectives from PublishOx. Just before I do so though it is worth emphasising that any Loopring held will be converted to Ampleforth after the next withdrawal date of 7th December 2020 on 15th December 2020.
So to summarise the discussion.
What should I do with my Ampleforth?
It will be accepted by several wallets including Trust Wallet, Atomic, MetaMask and any DEX wallet. The preferred option of Smoljanović from Publish0x favours Trust Wallet. I have found Smoljanović to be very helpful in his engagement with the community and his views are very well informed.
An alternative as suggested by Mynima is to simply hold Ampleforth on Publish0x and wait. In his view it's probably only a matter of time until Coinbase takes on Ampleforth as the Coinbase CEO is a well known backer of the project. This is an encouraging sign and indeed it is exactly what I did with my Loopring back in the summer. What was particularly nice about doing it this way was that because I had been holding my Loopring since I started the amount I had acquired proved to be a nice little bonus.
I have got to know Mynima over the last few months and again found him to be very knowledgeable and informative and I am sure he will forgive me for recommending him to you all.
I know one or two people were a bit upset and I must admit that I was initially a bit dismayed, but Publish0x have a great track record of interaction and transparency with its users and I have seen nothing to suggest that this move should be any different.
I recommend that anyone who is interested in finding more should read the referenced articles.
