Former P0x Tipping Tokens - Conclusions

Former P0x Tipping Tokens - Conclusions

By rah | rah | 22 Apr 2026

So, today I just want to tidy things up following my last set of posts on what has happened to the tokens historically adopted by P0x for tipping. PVM pretty much summed it up after my first post on the subject.

They're all dead!

While this is not quite true, Ethereum being the most obvious example and Optimism being another, his observation is not far off. BAT might just about be keeping its head above water too. You may have noticed that I have not added Farm and iFarm to my discussion here as I recently wrote an article about yield farming and I am not covering DAI (again recently covered) nor Bounty0x (thanks for the heads up @LiaRio) as this is definitely well before my time.

So what are my final thoughts and conclusions on this mini-series?

The first is that it does explain why Publish0x do keep swapping and changing their tipping currencies and I do think that it is really good that the team try to give fringe alts (can I call them that?) a chance, but recognise when they are flogging a dead horse. Personally, I am happy with the current choice of USDC, as it offers stability and solidity even though it is no longer stakeable thanks to MiCA (EU) and the incoming CLARITY Act (US) which almost certainly looks like it will be passed.

The second conclusion is that the header image really does pull in the reader. My undead terrier image, which I used for SPOT, got a lot more attention than the others even though SPOT, certainly in my experience, was the most unutilisable of all the tokens of them all. BAT, with actual utility, was the least well received and I had put that image together with a bit of powerpoint and free drawing the the BAT symbol. Personally I liked the hydra, but when posting on a semi-public platform such as P0x personal subjectivity has little relevance to what attracts others to what is posted.

This was amply illustrated a week or so ago, just before I started, when I shared something deeply personal about how I was struggling. It generated little community interest and no comments. There is no implied criticism here, but this is the community and how it works and subjectivity has nothing to do with it.

And so there you go and I hope you enjoyed.

As always stay safe and well my friends
