IBM Introduces Qiskit 2.0 SDK with a C API
IBM has gone full in, on making Qiskit THE preeminent Quantum SDK. In version 2.0 of SDK they enhanced speed by moving to Rust bringing 20% enhancement in performance. IBM also introduced a new C API as well was removal of deprecated features. The C API is designed to bring critical collaboration between the HPC and Quantum researchers, something that is currently lacking.

IBM invests $150M in Quantum
IBM made headlines on all the Socials yesterday with this announcement. However, digging into the 'Fine print' it seems this $150 million investment is over the course of the next 5-years. Digging deeper it might just be a way to try and save some of their HUGE US DoD contracts with all the recent layoffs and off-shoring of jobs. Big hint - FYI, IBM now has more employees in India than they do the USA. What's next moving, the HQ out of Armonk, NY?
Summary
Big Blue has been in business for over 110 years and continues to be a great partner for many US Enterprises as well as DoD. Expanding investments in Quantum technology is key to being around another 100 years in my estimate. Enabling linkages between HPC and Quantum teams via the common C language is top shelf common sense in my book. Enabling Rust was a must, yeah a simple rhyme to end this blog.
