Did you know that the story of the sleeping beauty has nothing to do with the story we all know? Disney has tricked us !!

Surely practically everyone, we are able to explain in a few words the story of the famous "Aurora", which is the daughter of the king, to which a sorceress throws a curse, for which before turning 16, she will prick with the needle of a spinning wheel and will die. The fairies, vassals of the kings, manage to soften the curse, preventing her from dying, but having to fall asleep deeply, until a kiss of true love awakens her. Although her parents try to remove her from danger by sending her to the forest, they do not succeed, and when she reaches that age it happens, the princess pricks herself and falls asleep, so that in her period in the forest she had a fortuitous encounter with a handsome prince. .. chance? I do not think so. Total, that this is exactly what happens, a kiss wakes her up and prince and princess end up dancing together
However, the original version of this story is quite different, so much that it could not be considered a children's story, so, if you don't want to see the stories of your childhood in any other way ... maybe you shouldn't keep reading, or yes . This first version dates from 1636 and was written in Italy by Giambattista Basile, under the title "Sun, Moon and Talia" (we say goodbye to Aurora as we know it), which was part of a collection of short stories entitled "Pentamerone".
Once upon a time (there we go ...) a great king blessed with the birth of a daughter, Talia. Sages and astronomers predicting the future of the little princess, they concluded that she would incur a great danger due to a splinter of linen. Therefore the king forbade any thread or linen material in his kingdom, to try to escape from that destiny.
Years passed and Talia had become a beautiful young girl. One day, looking through the window, he watched an old woman spinning. Since he had never seen a spinning wheel or a spindle, he wanted to see how it turned, and asked the old woman to let him try. Taking the wheel with her hand, the girl began to spin the linen. Unfortunately, Talia stuck a splinter of linen under her fingernail, and fell dead to the ground. When the old woman saw him, he was so scared that he ran down the stairs, and he is still running today
.
When the king learned of the misfortune, he took her to the castle. There he sat her on a velvet throne under a brocade canopy. Wanting to forget his great misfortune, he closed the doors and left the place forever.
After a while, one day a king hunted nearby. One of his hawks escaped from his hand and flew into the house through a window. He did not come to the king's call, so the king had to knock on the door, believing that the place was inhabited. Obviously, no one answered, so the king, using a ladder, climbed and entered, found the hall, and saw Talia, who seemed delighted, believed she was sleeping.

Giving voices to which Talia did not respond, she saw her charms, and saw how the blood was running through her veins. He lifted her in his arms and carried her to the bed, where he picked up the first fruits of love (we would now call it necrophilia ... yes, horrifying, the part less suitable for children begins), after the act, leaving her in bed, she returned to his kingdom, where, due to his numerous occupations, he did not remember that moment as more than a simple incident.
But oh! Surprise, nine months later Talia had two beautiful children, a boy and a girl. They were cared for by two fairies (where did they come from?). Once, looking for the nipple without finding it, they began to suck on one of Talia's fingers, and they made it so strong that they took out the linen splinter that had stuck in it. Talia woke up like this from a long dream, with two baby-shaped surprises by her side.

Meanwhile the king (yes, that being, eager for love ...) remembered Talia, and announced that he wanted to go hunting again; She returned to the palace and found her awake with the two babies. He happy about it explained to him who he was, and how he had seen her and entered that place. He must have convinced her because they both ended up in love and he stayed with her for a few days. After that time he said goodbye, promising that he would return soon and take her with him to his kingdom. He returned to his kingdom, but at all times he had the names of Talia, and of Sol y Luna (so were the names of his two children). Then the king's wife (yes, our don Juan was married) began to suspect that something strange had happened to her husband during the hunt, and began to plan his revenge.
The queen, sent to look for Talia, in the name of the king, asking him to take the children, because it was his desire to see them. Talia, he obeyed. But once in the palace the queen whose face shone due to the fire of anger that was in her, presented herself to her like this:
"Welcome, Mrs. Busy Body! You are a precious asset, weed that amuses my husband. So you are the piece of filth, cruel bitch, that has caused me so many headaches? Change your ways, for you will be welcome in purgatory, where I will compensate you for all the damage you have done to me. "
Talia tried to apologize, but the queen did not listen to her excuses, and took a fire burning from the palace courtyard and ordered Talia to lie on it. Talia begged the queen, at least to allow her to take off the clothes she wore, the queen not for compassion but greed, she allowed it, because Talia's clothes were woven with pearls and gold threads.
Regarding the children, she told the cook to kill them and serve them to the unfortunate husband. But the cook had a tender heart that had compassion for them hiding them in his wife's house, he prepared two lambs in his place between a hundred different dishes. When the king returned, the queen, with great pleasure, served the food. The king ate with pleasure, and every moment she said:
"Eat, eat ... You are eating what is yours."
In the end the king who did not give importance to his words, was angry at the queen's chant, which caused him to leave
the room.

Meanwhile, Talia, with each garment she took off, screamed, after having removed her dress, she went to take off her last dress, when she gave a last shout louder than the rest. He left his belongings on a pile and the queen forced him to lie on the embers.
The king suddenly appeared, and upon meeting that spectacle, he demanded to know what was happening. He asked for his children, the queen, reproaching him for his betrayal, told him that he had sent them to cook and serve them in the food, the king despaired, but not before ordering the queen to lie on the fire she had prepared for Talia, and that the Cook went with her, because she thought she had stewed her children.
The kneeling cook confessed to the king how he had saved his children from the fate that the cruel queen had prepared for them. The cook's wife, who had seen her husband's need, brought the two children, Sol and Luna, with her father. And the king forgave the cook and granted all his wishes as a reward and named him chamberlain. She married Talia, and she lived happily a long life with her husband and children, thus experiencing the truth of the proverb:

And colorful, this story is over, or they were happy and they ate partridges, as you prefer, in any case, this story could be said to end well (not at all). But as I said at the beginning I don't see it suitable for children. I hope your support to continue writing this and many other stories.
