I honestly try my best to avoid politics whenever I can. I noticed that political arguments tend to take the form of one side trying to force their opinions down the other side's throat. It never ends well.

But of late, the way the government has been handling the crash of all financial markets, as well as the coronavirus has been pretty much a joke.

The Dow, S&P500 and stock markets fell like rocks, losing serious amounts of money that haven't been seen since the crash of 08. Many people no longer have a retirement fund, as their either liquidated it or the thing completely went to zero as a result of dwindling stock prices.

Now I know we should always ask what we can do for our country, and not what it can do for us. But what the government did was really funny.

They actually cut interest rates to zero. They started out with reducing the interest rates slightly, with every crash. Then they eventually cut it to ground zero.

As if that wasn't enough, they decided to print $1.5 trillion of fresh, uncalled for dollars to inject into the market to, quote "calm the market down".

If that isn't the dumbest thing I've ever seen someone in administration do, believe me I don't know what is.

Not only would that move kick inflation through the roof (many have argued that that won't be the case immediately, but the fact that it would be the case at all is scary), it would also eventually lower the value of the dollar.

It's like cooking a ton of food for the weekend, and because you ate just one plate of food, you cook another whole ton to replace that one you ate. At some point, your refrigerator would get full, and if you keep cooking, some of the food, if not all would spoil. And you'd have wasted it.

The US is in some serious debt right now, and printing more money isn't the solution at all. 

Then to the coronavirus. 

In a speech, the president said that the best way to prevent the spread is to "wash your hands and stay away from each other". Wow.

The coronavirus is spreading seriously throughout the United States, and while that advice is valid in some sense, are those the only ways to prevent it?

There should be some mass quarantine in all parts of the US to prevent further spreading of the virus, but I guess we'd all wash our hands and stay away from each other and we'd be fine.

I don't really like politics as I said earlier, but the system is a joke at this point. And it's not even a funny joke.

But I guess we'll have to deal with it.
