The halving has occured. The hype is over. What next for Bitcoin?

The oh-so-amazing halving was completed yesterday, about 7 hours ago. The block reward was cut in half, and Bitcoin now has less inflation than gold.

But shouldn't something amazing have happened once the event was over? Shouldn't prices be flying all about the place right now?

The answer is no. And here's why.

Yes, the halving occured, and yes, it's a pretty big deal. But the real roller coaster ride is the next four years until the next halving.

You see, block reward just got reduced, but many miners want to test out the new way of things to see if they're still profitable. If you've tried to send bitcoin since yesterday, you'd have noticed extremely high fees.

For this reason, many people didn't transact bitcoin until after the halving, which led to about 30 minutes of NO transactions on the bitcoin blockchain.

The halving has therefore decreased miner selling ability, but I forecast a drop in price in the next few weeks.(I might be wrong of course)

Why do I forecast such?

Well, simply because miners who no longer feel that mining is profitable now have all of last month's block rewards. And they can sell those rewards at any time they wish, literally. They can decide that this mining game isn't for them, and sell off their rewards to get into another business venture.

That would inevitably drop prices, and that is what happens after every halving.(or at least happened after the last few)

But after those seller miners are gone, the artificial depression in price also pops away. Regular buying and selling continues, and the price now has had a lot of time to accumulate. The resultant effect is buyers going crazy and pushing the price all the way up to oblivion, or to ATH.

This is what I forecast would happen in the next few months of this halving. However, only time would tell.
