I think we all misunderstood the context of the "halving" everyone was talking about.
Stocks are falling faster than gravity can allow.
Gold, silver and crude oil are falling too.
Bitcoin has lost half of its value in less than month.
So have other cryptocurrencies.
But guess what is still worth exactly what it was at the beginning of the year right now?
Exactly. Money. Fiat money.
The government stabilised their own money by pumping a shit ton of money into the system before the virus occured.
If you recall, earlier in the year the government printed billions of dollars, which was equivalent to the entire market cap of bitcoin at the time, and inserted it into the market.
The side effect of that is what we're experiencing right now in the crypto side of things, but that move saved the government's money from devaluing.
And if you think I'm joking, just look at the Aussie dollar.
As if that's not enough, the government plans on injecting a few trillion dollars(1.3 to be exact) into the system in a few days, to, quote, "calm coronavirus scares".
This might blow off crypto into the water a little bit further, but we're already so deep in the water right now it doesn't even make sense anymore.
Bitcoin is revisiting lows from 2017 and 2018, while government controlled bonds are actually appreciating, amidst all this crisis.
The government saved their asses. They win this round.
But bitcoin always bounces back. This time won't be any different.
