At first, I wanted to write, "How to succeed...blah blah blah".
But it had no impact.
It was too cut and dried -- too common.
Perhaps, it's time we all know why projects fail.
Why economies collapse.
Economies fail because of two things:
1. Greed.
2. No people.
I learned that in my own life and whenever I travel.
Here's what I've observed so distinctly in two separate occasions:
I was in Thailand in 1997 and observed many beautiful condos.
After that, the Asian economy collapsed.
Then I was in the U.S. in 2007 and observed many beautiful condos, too.
Soon after, the U.S. economy collapsed.
Thing is, there were no people.
They were just structures.
Too many structures.
Having been schooled in Architecture, I can appreciate that.
But where were the people?
Why didn't anyone buy?
Why didn't anyone live in any of those?
How come I didn't see anyone walking around?
Remember that phrase "where are the customer's yachts"?
Mostly, only CEO's had yachts.
But what about the people who invested in these CEO's companies?
Where were their yachts?
You see, people forgot people.
They built, they marketed, but they forgot people.
That perhaps people can't afford such luxuries.
Had they sold it at a lower price, it's possible they could.
Had they really wanted people to own condos, people would be in there now and enjoying it.
Of course, I'm being simplistic.
There are powers that govern.
Powers that are hidden from us.
But all things being equal, picture this:
Earth can shrug her shoulders anytime and we'd be gone.
All those beautiful buildings and yachts, gone.
Earth can scratch an itch and there'd be tsunamis.
We're at the mercy of nature and no amount of crypto, hard cash, or possessions may remain.
That's the great equalizer -- earth.
So, why are we hoarding?
Why are we being greedy?
Why can't we not share?
There's plenty to go around, isn't it?
We can solve our problems in a jiffy if we really wanted to.
That's the key -- "if we REALLY wanted to".
But we don't, so our economies collapse.
Another scheme takes its place.
Alternative measures are created by those in the fringes of society.
We all want to survive.
We all want to thrive.
We will.
If we remember the people.
That's us, by the way.
