There are several hours of free time between shifts, and I try to use them as interestingly and usefully as possible, since life is short and it is necessary to live it to the maximum. Dictators come to power, create lawlessness, and we need to live this life in spite of all troubles... Today I had a couple of hours left for a break and I chose Vermont Canyon, this is Griffin Park. To make it clearer, these are mountains. Mountains are everywhere here and from this park you can see the whole of Los Angeles and the observatory is located. The day was warm, the forecast said it would be up to 28°, although it's spring now and next week promises to be full of rain, around +18-20°. The mountain was not easy, especially since I was already after the morning shift, which started at 4 a.m. The sun was shining and warm, birds were chirping, and sometimes blackbirds interrupted them. There were two roads in front of me: one along the mountain, which gradually went up, and the second behind a chain-link fence with the inscription "open". And of course, this second way lured me. I went through the open gate. Ahead was a wide road with a beautiful stream in a stone frame. I hesitated for a second, and if you can't come here, and if the gate is closed... What if... But it was very calm, the birds were chirping, the sun was shining, and I went... A stream murmured, butterflies fluttered around, lizards rustled, ran around, then froze, then quickly ran away, birds chattered... and suddenly I heard a strange growl, either a growl or a grunt... Maybe it's a coyote, there are a lot of them here, maybe it's something like a badger, I don't know. It made me stop and think about whether I had chosen the right path, maybe I should have followed a narrow road up, without fences, where there are people...??? I stopped abruptly and turned around. In front of me, 10 steps away, a white man was standing and staring at me, 2 dogs were standing next to him... All the episodes of "The investigation was conducted with Leonid Kanevsky" flashed through my mind, and I, trying to keep a safe distance, also stared at him. He was evaluating me, I don't know what he was evaluating, but I'm a fan of detective stories and true edge stories, I already saw a maniac in him and was glad that I hadn't gone far down this path, but I'm still not far from the exit. When I got to the gate, I noticed the fact that it was closed!!! When I came in, it was wide open. In the end, I followed the narrow path up and didn't regret it. The trail was steep, I had to put in a lot of effort and burn a decent amount of calories, but the view was amazing... I just froze in admiration... I found myself on the edge of a cliff and I had a stunning view, for a moment I felt dizzy and it seemed that I was about to fall off the cliff... I felt like I was flying... I was somewhere very far away from the hustle and bustle of the world, from politics, from wars, from conflicts and problems. And I thought, fuck you all, Trump, Putin, repression, vance, war, stupidity... It's just a pity that those who are under bombing, those who are dying, those who have lost their homes and loved ones cannot say this... God! Give them strength, give them salvation..
I thought that I couldn't stand on the side of lies and meanness. I still have to tell the truth and be on the side of the truth, whether it is in the minority or in exile... If everything goes well, then I will be able to vote in the United States only in 2032, and I will definitely do it, if God allows. And I will vote according to my conscience, for democracy and justice...
And yet, Zelensky did everything right, if he had humiliated himself and begged, nothing would have changed. You never have to give up!!!
And finally, I really appreciate you friends, you are a piece of goods, there are few of us, but we are the salt of the earth... That's it! I appreciate you!
