The Swamp Mile (Emberiza schoeniclus) is a bird in the Emberizidae family.
The back of this cheekbone is similar to that of other birds of the genus Emberiza and has brown and black streaks; the male has a black hood on his head ending with a white collar; chest and belly are clear; the beak is conical with a granivore.

Like all cheekbones, it feeds on seeds, especially those that develop in marshy areas, but does not let insects and mollusks escape, especially in the warm months.
It breeds in the months between April and July.

From the Italian name, it is understood that its natural habitat are the areas where there is water; is not a very common bird in Italy, there are few nesting pairs,

in the rest of the world it is can be found in the northern hemisphere, in Europe, Asia, and Africa. It is also possible to meet it not in the vicinity of wetlands in October/November when it migrates from the northernmost regions to the southern ones.
