I was first sensitized on crypto through sports blogging. It was in mid to late 2018. When I came to the crypto network, the 2017 rally was already done. I never got to see the upside and euphoria in the crypto community the rally brought. However, I experienced the crumbling and the deep somber that followed afterwards.
It is interesting for someone who entered the crypto space through blogging and eventually took part in the crypto finance to hear a lot about the 2017 incident but never experience it. The ATH seasons seems to have come back but I still wonder if the euphoria remains the same or the crypto community has matured to remain unaffected by these rallies.
The crypto market was sliding and on a downward spiral when I joined Scorum. I did not care much because I wanted to write and interact and earning crypto and the crypto price were secondary to me. However, the blogging numbers, engagement and interaction kept dropping in subsequent months in 2018 and 2019. The crypto price drove the population into these platforms and the engagement died when the price rally stopped. Everything went downhill.
The platforms were not dead but they were deserted. During the downtime, I tried many other blogging platforms and also sensitized myself with crypto concepts. I did not dare to buy my first coin up until April 2020 even though I knew about them earlier. COVID happened and it changed the way I looked into stock investment. That's another story.
The prices are green again. BTC is ripping and ALTs are following. Everything is looking happy and rosy. With the price increase, I feel like I am gasping :P I am regretting my decision to sell BTC and ETH. I am cursing myself to not buying all those dips. I am discouraged that I did not understand all signs and indicators. Having said that, I am happy that things are changing and I am in the mix to experience the surge that is happening now.
I will be able to recount the 2020/21 experience in the next five years. Hope this rally will continue and sustain in 2021 and this is just the starting phase. I think I am well sensitized and mildly prepared to dive into the space for the years to come.
