When I was 13, I always used to visit my best friend's house( Melody... hahah yes her mom was really COOL/SPACEY) and let me tell you, it was like a spiritual wonderland. I mean, her room was like a mini New Age store. Crystals everywhere, tarot cards, and even a dreamcatcher that looked like it was made by a 5th grader (I'm sure it was made with love though). If I wasn't Melodies friend I truly believe I may never have had this experience,  it was seeded in my mind,  and definitely  shaped me for the years to come.... soooooooo 

I had a lot of questions, and her mother, who was a spiritual guru in her own right, was more than happy to answer them. She showed me around the room, telling me about the properties of each crystal and even let me hold a few of them. It felt like I was holding tiny magic wands.  I could feel the connection. 

Next, she pulled out her tarot cards and asked if I wanted to do a reading. I was like "sure, why not? I got nothing to lose." As she shuffled the cards and laid them out, I couldn't believe my eyes.  As she read them out and explained each one I was getting more and more intrigued The images on the cards seemed to come to life and I felt a sudden rush of energy. It was like I was in a Harry Potter movie.

But the real kicker was when she gave me a pendulum and asked me to ask it a question. I asked if I would be happy in the future( In 13 year old question) probably more like. would I be rich and famous?..... Any way>>>>it started swinging in a circular motion. It was like it was saying "Yes, you will be happy, now stop worrying and go eat some ice cream." It was a feeling of peace and calm that I had never experienced before.

These experiences being around such spiritual and free minded people at such a young age, opened my eyes to the world of spirituality and how it can be used to connect with something greater than ourselves. I might not be able to hold a crystal and predict the future, but I learned that spirituality is about feeling good and happy. And you know what? I've been feeling pretty good ever since.
