Only yesterday, it occurred to me that there will be no soundtrack for the leftist revolution that is being manufactured in the West. Unlike the loud rebellion that occurred in the 1960's, there are no artists that will be remembered in conjunction with the sanctimonious, pontificating leftists of today. No "folk" revolution, no Dylan songs, no hippie movement, no acid rock, no counterculture, no Woodstock. There are several reasons for this, including the fact that everybody thinks music is free. No independent musicians can survive beyond their co-dependent, amateurish little scene. The music-is-free attitude is destructive, but it is merely the cherry on top of the concrete sundae of postmodernism that has plagued the West for decades. Now that the arts have finally been defeated, the left can show its true authoritarian colors. There is no longer any reason to give lip-service to the idea of "free speech," and they can further their agenda of totalitarian control in other areas.
The modern left hates art. They hate freedom, individual expression, and beauty. Their virtues are control, compliance, and enforced limitations. It is for this reason that there will be no soundtrack to this revolution. Technically speaking, I suppose you could count the sound of screeching, broken glass, and raging fires as a soundtrack, but I don't.
