Irish law enforcement agency- Criminal Assets Bureau has seized 56million USD worth of bitcoins from a drug dealer!
As Irish portal Independent.ie reported on Wednesday CAB received a freezing order from Irleand high court, because the court accepted that the dealer, Clifton Collins, was involved in the sale and supply of drugs
It is claimed the 49-year old Collins early on invested in bitcoin. Notably, according to the article, the agency received the order "to ensure it could not be removed from its wallet without the court's approval,".
The confiscation of the bitcoin was apparently a major part of the € 62 million ($67 million) overall seizure of assets by the department in 2019.
