No clarity regarding taxation on crypto income from advertising, online services

By pcwork | onlinemoneymaking | 26 Oct 2022

While the mainstream media has extensively covering the 30% taxation on cryptocurrency trading profits in India there is no clarity on the taxation of crypto income from advertising, online services and similar sources.

While the citizens who invested money in crypto usually had sufficient money and invested mainly to make a good profit, many of the citizens who are working online or are online publishers are making very less money, usually far less than salaried employees having the same qualifications, experience and work ethic. Typically in India, online workers, especially domain investors are making less than 10% of what salaried employees with similar experience and skills are making due to rampant resume theft,cyber-crime and banking fraud in the Indian internet sector.

So it is time that the government agencies clearly distinguish between cryptocurrency trading income and cryptocurrency payment received as payment from online services, advertising and similar sources. If there is no clarity, it could further lead to cheating, exploitation, robbery of online workers, who are already making very less money, by the well paid government employees abusing their powers to harass, exploit and extort money from the poor online workers.
