there are learned illiterates
or maybe they just claim to be educated.
The only thing that interests them
is killing and embezzling.

When they get voted in,
they swear on the Holy Books
and pledge to devote their lives
for the safety of the citizens
but as always, it's a lie
God is really patient
Because these ones are sold out to the devil

In my country,
only the government can feel threatened
the citizens dare not.
On daily basis, we lose our dear ones
to insecurity, yet we must always adapt.

In my country,
the government hates corrections and advice.
We claim to be democratic
but most of the time
it seems to me that we practice martial law
They are demonstrating craziness, not democracy
We live under a dictatorship that cannot be checked

In my country,
the government wants to be monarchical
they hate to leave the position
and when they finally leave,
they put their offsprings on the seat
It's more of a connection and family affair
We recycle the same set over and over again
We are choosing from the choices they front
How is this in any way freedom of choice?

In my country,
the saddest thing is that
we are scared to fight,
we are scared to make a change and move forward We just love to adapt
Maybe we are not scared
Because the last time we spoke
Blood washed the streets
And we are still waiting for justice

If this continues,
slowly, we will start to lose ourselves
and we will become slaves to the government
and our story might be, "there was a time"...
This is why we won't relent until our voices echo thunder
