What is happening in and to you Africa?
Your lands never experienced constant earthquakes and landslides
Tsunamis and cyclones
Have never been in your description consistently
Why do you have them now in different human forms?

Oh! Fatherland,
You used to flow with milk and honey -
Peace showers on all your inhabitants like rain
The wind that used to blow only brought refreshments
The sun that used to shine Was always fair and beautiful
Oh! Fatherland, where have we gone wrong?

Oh! Land of abundant food
Why do you experience scarcity?
Fishes would come to your riverbanks
And settle for your people to take them
Bush animals, would walk into your trap
For you and your family to eat
Land of abundance, how have we offended you?

Oh! Land of peace and tranquillity
You used to accommodate people of different races and languages
People of different tribes and settlement
Why then have you turned your back on them?
Why have you allowed them to spill the blood of their brothers
From where their food always come from?
Land of peace, what have we done to deserve your neglect?

Land of milk and honey
Land of the abundance of food
Land of peace and tranquillity
We beg that you forgive us for all that we have done
Give to us your old times again
