Most humans are full of deceit and this I know
Even from the unlikeliest of sources, you find them
Ripped at heart and with an aching heart you wonder
What has happened to humanity as our sanity wander
I thought they said what is good for the goose is also good for the gander?
I don't seem to know anymore because some determine what's good for you
As long as it's lesser than what they get, they think it's a fair trade
Where do we go from here as humans?
How do we explain to the brokenhearted that there is hope
When all that stares at them in the face is hardship, they can't cope
And you wonder why most people think the worst and use the rope?
Most people are broken and a gentle push, they are down the slope
We can do better - mean what we say and say what we mean
I would rather not give a promise I might not keep
Than to look good in your eyes for a minute and then falter
The world is for us all and no one should think less of others
We all need one another and we should learn to do better
