We take a look at whether free NFTs will become the new hype in 2022 or even already are!
Around 100 new NFT projects are created every day. There are certainly already over 1 million projects in circulation, from small creators to very large ones.
There are over 26,526,671 items created on Opensea alone.
But why do the creators give away their nfts?
First you have to know how it came about that Nfts were given away and who the creator was!
We'll start with who are the creators on sites like Nfts? I spent a lot of time creating a collection on Opensea myself and gained a lot of experience what and how to use nfts and what exactly the point of it all is. I looked at many other big projects to learn more about who is behind them. What I noticed very quickly is that the biggest projects like Krypto Punks or Bored Apes were created by companies. The companies weren't all big, but they had a whole team. Where there is one who runs the social one puts up the collection and there are those who create the nfts.
It will also spend a lot of money on promo. The sums are partly at 10 thousand dollars only for some promotions. These are prices that not everyone can afford.
There is also a Collection of Celebrities, Popular Artists and many other types of Celebrities. Of course, there are also normal creators who are not known, but it is 100 times more difficult. I myself received an offer from a large YouTuber with 500K subscribers to the NFT Projects, I will not name any names now. His offers were very expensive and he wasn't interested in whether my project was good or bad, he just wanted to profit from it. Many of the promoters I paid didn't look at the project! Which showed me even more how difficult it is to sell nfts without a community.
THIS is the Price from the Youtuber !!!

Now they know there are more companies at the top. But how did it happen that NFTs were given away for free? For this we look at the project Krypto Punks. the project has been active since 2017 and They were originally released for free and could be claimed by anyone with an Ethereum wallet. The only cost to claim a CryptoPunk during their initial release were Ethereum (ETH) "gas fees", which at the time were negligible due to little use of both the Ethereum blockchain and little knowledge of the project as well.
So the hype of the NFTs started after more and more users came and the crypto punks were sold piece by piece to the community, the public started to show more interest in NFTs in the hope of getting the big profit.
When Opensea and other platforms that sell NFTs provided a method for users to create and send a collection without gas fees. Known as Polygon Blockchain.
This resulted in even more users and the number of projects got a mega hype more and more people want to earn money through nfts to get rich quick. Which doesn't mean just because you put up a nft for free someone buys it no! There is more to every right project than just a picture. You need a community or buyers. You must also make sense of the NFT. Eg. Holding a Bored Ape gives you a nike shoe that only holds the NFT and some NFTs are important to the Metaverse as they serve a purpose there.
Yes, from here you've probably noticed that it doesn't sound as easy as it looks. But now we come to the point of giving away NFTS.
Why many projects give away free nfts is that you quickly build a community through giveaways on sites like Twitter, Facebook and Reddit etc. because it offers a huge reach. The more you give away to different users, there is a chance that he will join the community and show it to his friends or family in the real world, which means that even more people will hear about a nft. If it is then known that you only get it for free for a short time, the pressure is higher to have a nfts. Also the feeling is amazing when you get a nft sent that you could sell for a lot of money. Which means that every free gift creates a feeling of happiness and you want to collect and show off more and more. That plays a big role. Imagine you were given a nft worth 10 thousand dollars and you could sell it. But others would keep it to brag about to friends or the NFT community. Which isn't bad. Its up to you what you do with the nft.
But how do I get the nfts free? You can easily see for yourself on Facebook or Twitter how many projects are starting to give away everything for free over 1000 NFTs giveaways every day over 1000 nft users receive gifts and the numbers are increasing and increasing. Look around the nft world and you will find that it is very easy to get a free nft every day. But will it catch on and how much is it for us creators who are little to give away in hopes of being seen? What I have to say is that there are free nfts communities that are worthwhile, but some are just scams! How you look at it is up to you.
