A cry for restoration
Oh my dear young
why have thou lost hope in me?
Why?
how do you no longer notice my beauty?
My tears in the cities are heard in
the bushes by my prey and my predators,
My friends are now my enemies,
Because you left me in the hand
of those who do not care for me
Have you fought for me like your
patriotic father did in my days of fortune
Miss Fortune won't have overtaken me
Had you stood by me,
and by what is right
my dignity would not have been lost
What if my beauty is no longer as before?
Have you taken your time to search for my hidden beauty?
Have you searched me in and out and found me unworthy to sustain you?
How did we get to this level?
That you now run around in search of a greener pasture,
That you do evil to survive
Have you forgotten that I am that mighty that everyone talked
about my generosity and my sincerity
Have you forgotten my morals and values which was valued
Even of old by your father's
Oh my dear ones come back to me
Don't leave me disaster
Don't lose hope in me
Remember the unity that gave your father's victory
Please come back and search my hidden beauty
Find my hidden beauty
Use my hidden beauty
repair the homes of your father's
Make it your home again
After that check me again
You will
Behold the giant of Africa
That is whom I am
And that's is whom I will remain
If only you will start now
to believe me again, I am a great Nigeria.
