The collection made its debut at a blockchain conference in 2017. Since then, the collection has traveled the world and been on display at many crypto-themed events. This is how the paintings first became known to the international community of digital art collectors and crypto enthusiasts. Despite many lucrative offers, some as high as $6 million for one piece, the current owner has never been persuaded to accept any of them for ideological reasons. That has all changed now. The owner has chosen a perfect moment in blockchain history to release the paintings and turn the auction into a statement.

The paintings are being released back to the market just in time for Ethereum’s 6th Anniversary and coincide more or less with Ethereum's London Hard Fork launch, expected on 4th August 2021. All five works of art, “CryptoMother”; “Miss Coin”; “CryptoFather”; “Ethereum”; and “Bitcoin”; will be auctioned on the NFT STARS marketplace on 30th July. Each work will be auctioned separately and the bidding process for each will last 72 hours. 

The winning bid will receive the associated non-fungible token and the original oil on canvas painting. The seller will cover the cost of shipment to any corner of the world and part of the proceeds will go to charity.

"CryptoMother" - The Iconic Painting Signed by Vitalik Buterin

"CryptoMother," also known as the ‘Crypto Mona Lisa’, is the centerpiece of the collection. Just like a real mother, she protects every block in the network and helps guide crypto enthusiasts to well-being and prosperity. She is the high power that safeguards the passionate minds of the crypto industry and warns them of risky moves. 

The artwork has admirers from all over the world and the most famous of them is the creator of Ethereum Vatalik Buterin himself. In 2018, the revered programmer saw the artwork at a blockchain conference and left his autograph on the physical painting. The Crypto Mona Lisa is the only work of art to ever be signed by Buterin. One art collector from the U.S. once offered $6 million but the current owner declined. On 30th July, the bidding process will start at 400 ETH. Seventy-two hours later, the NFT community will learn its new price.

The winner will receive the original physical painting (100 × 100 cm) and the NFT. The seller will cover the cost of transportation.
