On April 6th, 2023, Nexus founder Colin Cantrell provided the community with an update on the project's development progress. He began by announcing the news that Bittrex would no longer serve US customers and that the team is now focusing on obtaining more exchange listings.

The NXS community is actively communicating with TradeOgre, which has already listed NXS. Colin has asked for input from the community on their preferred exchanges and has also stated that they are approaching Kucoin and Gate.io for potential listing opportunities.

The 5.1 core is live, and a few bugs are being fixed. A new mobile wallet beta was recently released, and the team has been working on resolving sigchain-related issues and developing filters and queries using the query DSL built into the API. Additionally, they have fixed crashes on the iOS wallet version.

The 5.2 update is currently in progress and will be released on April 26th, after several more weeks of testing. The team is also working on the desktop wallet, which will soon be available, and another mobile beta for both Android and iOS is expected by Monday. This beta will include an improved reliability rebroadcasting protocol to ensure that transactions are received every couple of minutes. Developing a smart contract platform that runs on mobile devices has presented numerous challenges, but Nexus is leading the way.

Colin briefly mentioned that the 6.0 upgrade will include Pooled staking and the Distributed File System, both of which are high priorities. The file system will enable users to monetize their hard drives and host files remotely. The entry requirement for successful staking will be reduced from the current requirement of 25-30k NXS with the anticipated addition of pooled staking. The team is also in discussions with Komodo and hopes to get Nexus on their atomic DEX in the near future.

The team requests that the community submit crash reports and debug logs.

Colin expressed his goal of providing the community with more consistent and predictable timelines.
