Privacy coin GRIN is currently experiencing a 51% attack, according to mining pool data platform 2miners.com, which tweeted about the development on Nov. 8.
- One mining entity seized control of 58.1% of the network’s hash power on Nov.7
- 2miners controls 19.1% of GRIN’s hash pool, while Sparkpool controls 18.9%
- Several blocks have been orphaned since the attack began, and at least 1 fork has been executed
- GRIN is one of the first tokens to implement privacy protocol MimbleWimble and had been marketed an accessible token that could be used by individuals of any skill level
- The price of the GRIN token has remained largely the same, dropping only 1.1% over the last 24 hours
