Despite thousands of malicious hacks being reported daily, large enterprises keep relying on centralized databases and traditional browsers to process their data. This results in frequent data leaks and confidentiality breaches. To put it simply: the aspirational decentralized space everyone is talking about does not yet exist. Fast forward from the time when Snowden reported nationwide privacy violations by the NSA in 2013 to today - not much has changed.
Big tech like Facebook and Google still uses advanced algorithms to monitor everything private you put out on the Internet, creating favorable filters for the average individual. Files stored in the centralized storages like iCloud and even the private notes written on the phone are not confidential. In reality, people are stripped of their basic right to own their data and put under constant surveillance.
So what’s the alternative?
Point Network, the world’s first full Web3 architecture, serves as a collection of software tools that could enable users to reach the very ethos of Web3 with the golden standard of privacy, confidentiality, and freedom of speech. The project tackles decentralized storage and decentralized browsers as two key challenges slowing down the mass adoption of blockchain. By adding these two components to their infrastructure, the team hopes to return power to the people and create a fully decentralized network with a browser, wallet, mailing system, and social networks.
Unlike existing storage and browsers, Point Network is not subject to aggressive restrictions: all data is stored on the Interplanetary File System (IPFS) while being encrypted for an additional security layer. This way individuals can access anything they want from their devices by using private keys without fear of a network going down.
Point Network successfully listed its token $POINT on XT, empowering the community to expand their portfolio. Holders can now use $POINT, a utility-based token in the Point Chain blockchain, to pay for validator fees, stake it as collateral, and, most importantly, become a part of the community united on a mission to make the world a truly decentralized place.
