The advantages of our Baltic Sea could be discussed for a long time. Unfortunately, I am not one of his supporters. The Baltic Sea is too cold, dirty for me, and in the season it is crowded and speckled with screens. That is why I prefer to travel around the world in search of peace, clean and warm water.

But there are some interesting places on the Baltic Sea that I would like to visit again and recommend to others. One of these places is the Słowiński National Park, or more precisely - the moving dunes located in it.

The Błędowska Desert is located several dozen kilometers from where I live. Although it is huge, because it covers an area of over 33 square kilometers, and equally charming, it was created as a result of human interference in the natural environment.

The situation is different in the case of the Słowiński National Park, because the sand dunes in it are the work of nature itself.

The dunes in this region reach 30-40 meters, and their travel speed can be as high as 10 meters per year. It is a unique natural phenomenon and the largest complex of moving dunes in Europe.

The dunes move because of the wind that pours grains of sand from the tops of the hills.

What is surprising about the dunes in the Słowiński National Park is their instability. Due to the fact that they are mobile, they cause a slight landscape disorientation.

A person who comes to one place again finds a changed landscape and this is the beauty of this Park.

Beautiful views are a unique combination of huge sand heaps with the Baltic shoreline. Such shots remain in your head forever.

Where did the name Polish Sahara come from?
The name comes from the fact that there are places in the dunes, for example Góra Łącka, from which, when looking around, you can only see sand, reminiscent of the desert sands of the Sahara.

The dunes in the Słowiński National Park are under strict protection, and you can only walk there along designated paths.

The largest dune in the Słowiński National Park
The most popular and largest dune in the Park is the Łącka dune (Góra Łącka). It is over 40 meters high, and from its top there is an amazing landscape.

Słowiński National Park is not only about dunes. It is tens of kilometers of nature trails and paths, where we can meet unique flora and fauna.

Enjoy
