This very rare species of mushroom, if you are lucky, can be observed from summer to autumn in European conditions in coniferous forests, especially in foothills. It is a mycorrhizal species and needs the vicinity of pine trees.

It grows directly from the ground, often in groups of several pieces, sometimes intergrown.

The mushroom is clearly divided into a cap and a stem. The diameter of the cap reaches 10 cm, but most often it does not exceed 5 cm.

The hat has a kidney-shaped, oval, semicircular shape. The color varies, olive-brown, brown and even black.

The fissured surface of the cap is dull, almost suede, incurved in young mushrooms. Small, tiny scales are visible on it.

The bottom of the cap is made of white tubes, which turn green under pressure or damage. In old mushrooms, they turn yellow.

The leg usually grows centrally, but sometimes laterally. It is relatively short, and on its surface you can see a delicate mesh. It's full inside.

The flesh is fleshy, white or light yellow. The smell and taste is almost imperceptible. An edible species, but due to its rarity, it should not be collected.
