Walking in the early spring in the forest in search of morels or related edible species of mushrooms, we may come across a rather peculiar case.

It is a mushroom called spring . This is an unusual phenomenon and a very rare mushroom, but it really likes the vicinity of early morel, and probably also the substrate on which early morel grows.

The mushroom does not reach large sizes, its cap can be up to 5 cm in diameter. The young mushroom is cup-shaped, but becomes cup-shaped as it ages.

The mushroom has no visible stem. The inner side of the mushroom has a very intense yellow-orange color, sometimes blue-green, and the outer, often cracked side is greenish-yellowish.

The mushroom is inedible, but not poisonous. Its flesh is crisp, delicate, without any perceptible taste or smell.

This species is quite rare and is protected in many European countries. It can be found in wetlands, swamps, mainly in deciduous forests. It appears at the end of February and grows until July.
