Meadow representative of coral-shaped mushrooms - Clavulinopsis corniculata (Meadow Coral)

By madventure | Nature, Photography | 19 Feb 2024

Unlike many similar mushrooms whose shapes resemble corals, this species usually grows in the open, not deep in the forest.

Hence its name - Meadow Coral, because it loves pastures, meadows, all kinds of grass, lawns. It grows out of the ground during the summer season in Europe, i.e. in August and September.

It grows mainly in groups, small clusters. The mushroom is yellowish, yellow-orange or yellow-brown in color.

Its height does not exceed 10 cm. It is branched, sometimes quite chaotically. Characteristic horns are visible on the tops.

The mushroom is not poisonous, but has not found culinary use. Its flesh is practically tasteless and odorless. It bristles among rare species.

Enjoy 😉
