Although the day was relatively sunny and getting warmer, the night brought a slight frost. This was visible on the grass. The horse chestnut leaves also took a slight beating from the cold, but they're coping just fine.

It's supposed to get warmer by the day, and spring proper is now certain. Morning frosts will still be a possibility, but as the sun begins to shine, it will warm up very quickly.

Unfortunately, it's very dry. I haven't remembered such a dry spring in many years. There was virtually no rain in March, and April has also been very water-poor so far.

Today's walk was a success. The birds were fed, and all varieties of tits and sparrows arrived. The crows and jackdaws were gone again.
