Another underestimated culinary common flower, the daisy

Probably every inhabitant of the Earth knows this common flower. Although it does not grow everywhere, it is a symbol of spring, blooming and life. In European conditions, it grows even in winter, when it is mild.

Common daisy, also called meadow daisy, belongs to the asteraceae family and is a perennial that can be successfully grown in gardens or even at home.

It grows in groups in meadows, clearings, parks, gardens and has many varieties.

It can be up to 30 cm high, but a field variety that grows on low-fertile soils usually does not exceed 10 cm. It blooms most often in spring in February, March and blooms until late autumn. Likes fertile soil and sunny places.

The unfolded flower consists of beautiful long white or pink petals and a yellow center filled with tubular flowers.

A daisy on the kitchen table? Why not?

Daisy flowers are great for cooking in the kitchen. They are added to salads, because they have a characteristic mint-like taste.

But that's not all, because the common daisy has been known for centuries in folk medicine. Daisy flowers have anti-inflammatory properties and contain substances that support digestion, used in stomach ailments.
