
Cap - The diameter of the hat can be from 6 to 30 cm. Pale brown to hazel in color, sometimes greyish brown or ocher gray. Young fruiting bodies may have a dark brown cap. Initially semicircular in shape, then convex, eventually flattened. The surface is mostly dry, slightly suede, slightly sticky in rain, mature specimens may have a badly cracked cap. The edge is dull, often whitish.

The stem is 10 to 25 cm long and 2 to 7 cm thick. Color from pale gray to light brown. At the beginning it is youthful in shape, very bulbous, later slender, or even cylindrical, full. The whole leg or half covered with a transparent mesh, initially cream, then brownish, lighter than the color of the shaft. (hence the name of the reticulated boletus).
The flesh is white, slightly pale brown under the skin, sometimes yellowish above the tubes, not discolored, firm and firm on the skin, then soft, spongy. The smell and taste are very pleasant, which is very intense after drying.

Occurrence: In deciduous and mixed forests, on the ground, mainly under oaks and beech trees. Some authors say that also in coniferous forests. The reticulated browik appears in our forests as the first brivik of the season. It occurs from May to September, singly or in small groups. Value: edible, very tasty.
